Our Story

A New Standard for Healthy Homes

TEKlife was founded to address a specific gap: no residential wellness certification existed for hot climates, smart homes, or the GCC market. We built one.

Our Mission

To make healthy living measurable, verifiable, and accessible in residential property — starting with the GCC, where existing certification standards have the least residential coverage.

Our Vision

A residential market where “wellness certified” means something specific and auditable — not a developer marketing claim, but a third-party credential backed by documented criteria and occupancy data.

The Problem We Solve

We spend 90% of our time indoors. Most buildings are designed for aesthetics and cost efficiency — not for the health of the people inside them.

Poor indoor air quality, inadequate natural light, electromagnetic exposure, and disconnection from nature affect health and sleep quality in ways that are measurable and, in most cases, preventable at the design stage.

Existing wellness certifications — WELL, Fitwel — were designed for commercial interiors in temperate climates. The GCC residential sector has been underserved: different climate, different occupancy patterns, different buyer profile.

TEKlife fills that gap with a standard built specifically for residential property in the region.

Biophilic interior design

Our Approach

Five principles guide how the TEKlife standard is built and maintained.

🔬

Science-Based

Every criterion in our certification is grounded in peer-reviewed research on building science and human health.

🌡️

Climate-Appropriate

We design standards that work in real-world conditions, especially hot and humid climates often overlooked by others.

📊

Criteria-Based

We certify against 50+ specific, testable checkpoints. Certification reflects documented compliance, not self-reported features.

🤝

Accessible

Our tiered Bronze-Silver-Gold system makes certification achievable for developments across the budget spectrum.

📱

Continuously Monitored

We integrate with smart home technology for ongoing monitoring — the standard does not end at handover.

🏗️

Collaborative

We work with developers and architects from design phase, not as a post-construction audit.

Our Journey

2024

Research & Development

Analysis of global wellness certification standards and identification of the residential GCC gap.
